DescriptionThe University of Chicago invites applications for the position of Research Associate in the area of Climate Systems Engineering. Appointment will be made in the Department of the Geophysical Sciences. The University is building a world-leading Climate Systems Engineering initiative with multiple academic hires addressing solar geoengineering, open-system carbon removal such as enhanced weathering, and interventions to limit loss of glacial ice. The Research Associate will engage in collaborative and translational research that contributes toward the research mission of the Climate Systems Engineering initiative, under the guidance of the faculty comprising the Executive Committee of the Climate Systems Engineering initiative. This position is full-time, benefits eligible with an initial term of up to three years, renewable, with an expected start date in academic year 2024-2025.
